About the Art Guild

In 2011, a small group from Stanardsville, Va., recognized the need to form an art guild to support and promote the local artists in the community.  The Art Guild of Greene became official in 2012 and provided exhibits, events, and activities to benefit the artists and the community at large highlighting Stanardsville as a center for the arts.  The Guild is funded by membership dues, grants, and revenues generated by fundraisers and other special events. It is a community-based, volunteer-run organization designated as a non-profit 501(c3). The Guild has the largest Barn Quilt Trail in the state of Virginia. More than 150 barn quilts dot the landscape throughout the county.
