2026 Virginia Black Bear Festival
Bear-ly Plein Air & Children’s Design a Bear Activity
On June 7, 2026 the Art Guild of Greene joined with the Virginia Local Plein Air Guild to host an outdoor event where local artists, scattered around town, actively created a unique piece of artwork during the Festival. Each piece was expected to include a bear. The public, were encouraged to watch the artists in action. Public choice awards on a variety of fun topics were given to participants.
Art Guild also hosted a free activity for the many children attending the event. This year the activity centered around decorating a small wooden bear (or bear paw) that could be taken home as a souvenir.
- We look forward to the next Black Bear Festival on June 5, 2027
